Not all that glitters is an Altar!

Last April we celebrated Easter, one of the religious festivals of immense emotion and faith. In May we had the celebrations with many feasts of Our Lady of Fátima. And in June, do we have celebrations?

“Ah! If we have!”

When the month of June arrives, the feasts of popular saints multiply in the four corners of the world, to thank Saint Anthony, Saint John and Saint Peter for the graces received, make new requests and bless life, family, home and job.

We all have a lot of faith in our religion – regardless of belief, and it is common to have religious images and/or an altar with saints, saints, angels, archangels, other deities, candles, incense, guides, books at home or in the workplace. and instruments used in prayers and religious rituals.

They are rituals that the human being arranges to achieve balance.

Thus, choosing the place where you will represent your altar and taking care of it is essential to have your home blessed and your business protected.

Next, we will highlight some care that we must have with religious altars*, according to our ideals:

  1. your religious altar must be in a reserved place in your house. Do not represent your altar in environments where many people pass by, such as corridors and rooms, for example, because your prayers should be said in quiet and free of interruptions. But if a hallway or a room is the only place to set up the altar, consider placing it in an oratory. So you will protect him and feel your prayers stronger.
  2. don’t choose untidy or dirty environments for your altar, the “ironing room” type. If your life is in a messy phase, don’t want that mess for your faith.
  3. if you choose a shelf in your living room for your altar, be careful not to have the shelf too full of objects. The idea is to highlight your favorite saint!
  4. don’t have any rubbish bins next to your altar.
  5. if you choose your room to have your altar, place it inside an oratory, as it will bring you beauty and a sense of peace in your home.
  6. the best places for an altar are the most private in the house.

*when there is only one image of a deity or saint in the environment, your care may be lighter, as it does not properly symbolize an altar.
