On this day, many parties are held, popularly known and marked by dances, large bonfires and typical dishes, namely roasted sardines on a slice of cornbread. This day is also the height of this month’s festivities, as it is exactly the day on which the birthday of Saint John the Baptist, the festival-goer, is celebrated. It was Saint John who created baptism and who baptized cousin Jesus.<\/p>\n\n
On June 29th, Saint Peter’s Day is celebrated. In popular traditions, Saint Peter’s Day is celebrated with bonfires, fireworks and typical foods. The feast of S\u00e3o Pedro is one of the most celebrated and, normally, in these celebrations there are many fairs, fairs and large bonfires, as happens on Saint John’s Day.<\/p>\n\n \u201cWhen the month of June arrives,
